About

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”
– Brené Brown

That’s where it all starts – just showing up.

The “being seen” part will come as I prove myself worthy of your trust and as you feel safe to open up.

Then and only then will we work together to understand your life experiences and identify ways to make positive changes in your life.

There’s no set agenda but yours. Your goals are what we work toward achieving. My job as a therapist is to create a safe, nonjudgmental place for you to be YOU. While working together, our focus will be on you seeking to understand yourself better, shed shame, break behavioral patterns, and learn how to deal with difficult thoughts and feelings.

By feeling seen and understood, you will feel more empowered to accept your strengths and challenges, tolerate hard emotions, rewrite the narratives you tell yourself, and live a more enjoyable life.

“A family doesn’t have to be perfect; it just needs to be united.”
– Anupam Kher

Family Therapy

I like to think of “Family” as a form of art or piece of music – beautiful chaos. Families have different personalities with different interests, different styles of communication and thinking, and varying emotions and behaviors. Life in a family is a process of giving and taking.

Family sessions are helpful to unify and support all members. I work to help families build connections and compassion for one another. Together, we seek to help neurodiverse family members feel better understood, and neurotypical family members no longer feel forgotten.

We have a little fun while shaking up unhelpful patterns and creating a family working together for the benefit of each person – like beautiful chaos.

Let’s do this together! Take the next step and reach out for a free 20-minute consultation.

About Blair Edgar

Accidental Therapist

I didn’t know that I would one day be a therapist.

I always knew I was a people-person, perceptive, and a natural encourager at heart. I recognized my passion for analyzing and solving problems. But life experiences drove me to a career as a therapist.

My witty, fun-loving, intense, intelligent, sarcastic, and anxious family inspired me. I knew the complexities of ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and gifted learning personally. And I knew I would be a great fit for so many individuals and families. So, I decided to become a therapist for people like my family and me.

My Education and Credentials

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Troy University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University.

My professional experience includes working as a medical social worker providing crisis intervention, counseling, and case management services for all-aged patients at a local hospital and an outpatient cancer center.

I worked with an infant mental health agency, completing assessments and counseling foster care children and their birth or foster parents. I have experience conducting and writing domestic and international adoption home studies. I also had the privilege of working with Florida State University’s Autism Institute, First Words Project.

I have training in assessing and diagnosing autism spectrum disorders using the ADOS2. As one of their research diagnosticians, I worked with toddlers to advance ASD research to support early diagnosis and intervention.

What I do when I am not working

My husband, Jody, and I are parents of two boys, Sheppard and Rhett. We practically live at the baseball field, so I usually cheer for one of my boys at a baseball game when I am not working. If I am not there, you will find us enjoying the Florida life, swimming or boating.

I also love a good true crime documentary, listening to podcasts, or visiting locally owned eateries and breweries.
