FAQ

Where is the office located?

My office is in the Madison Park office complex, on the corner of Bayou Boulevard and 12th Avenue.

4300 Bayou Blvd., Suite 25EPensacola, FL 32503

Are there other things I should know about your office?

My office waiting room is on the second floor with stair access only. If you cannot use a staircase for any reason, we will schedule our sessions via telehealth. Working online is super easy and convenient! You can also wait in your vehicle and text me when you arrive.

How long is a typical session?
Sessions are 50-55 minutes.
What are your hours?

I see clients on Wednesday, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 am – 5 pm.

Mondays and Tuesdays are my administration or professional enrichment days.

Weekends and evenings are for family, baseball, fun, church or self-care.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance.

I made this decision because I want to keep complete control of my practice with my sole purpose being my client’s best interest. This allows us to focus on your needs without being limited to a diagnosis, number of sessions, or compromising your confidentiality.

My time is spent with clients or becoming a better therapist by participating in consultation groups, taking continuing education courses, or reading professional books.

You may call your insurance company to learn about your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

I can provide you a monthly superbill that you can directly file with your insurance company for reimbursement of out-of-network services. Please note insurance companies require a diagnosis on all superbills, and a mental health diagnosis is a permanent part of a client’s medical records.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that all cancellations or reschedules are made 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. There is a full session cancellation fee for appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice.

How do I make an appointment?
Email or text me for an initial appointment. After that, you will have access to book appointments for yourself through my client portal.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
This initial phone consultation is a 20-minute call that allows us to ask each other a few questions and determine if I am the right therapist for you or your child/teen.
Can you provide an estimate of my total costs?
If you are paying privately or using “Out of Network” benefits for your therapy, I will provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost. Under the federal “No Surprises Act,” health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, and you will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your first appointment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
With what age range do you work?
I work with ages six and older.
Do you prescribe medications?
No. Only pediatricians, primary care doctors, or psychiatrists can prescribe medications.
Do you diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?
Although I am trained in administering the ADOS2, I am not currently providing ASD assessments.
Are you a Christian Counselor?
I am a Christian, but I am not specifically a Christian Counselor. Therapy is kept clinical unless the client wishes to include religion in a session.
Do you have pets?

Yep! A dog named Heidi!

She is a black and white rat-terrier mix with a black eye like the Target Dog. She can destroy ANY dog toy with a squeeker in 30 seconds. She goes bananas over an electric hot wheels track… barking and grabbing the cars as fast as she can. It is so funny!

Heidi loves us all so well… but my husband is her favorite!
